Abstract, Snapshot, Market Analysis & Market Definition: Synthetic Single Crystal Diamond Market
Synthetic diamond is produced by the reaction of carbon raw materials such as graphite and some metals (alloys) with static ultra-high pressure (50 ~ 100kb, that is, 5 ~ 10GPa) and high temperature (1100 ~ 3000°C) technologies. The typical crystal states of diamond are cube (hexahedron), octahedron and 6-octahedron and their transition forms.
Non-diamond-structured carbon is artificially transformed into diamond-structured carbon, and single and polycrystalline diamonds are formed through nucleation and growth, or fine diamonds are burned into polycrystalline diamonds under high pressure and temperature. The hardness of artificial single crystal diamond is slightly inferior to that of natural diamond. Other properties are comparable to those of natural diamonds. As a result of artificial manufacturing, its cleavage direction and size become controllable and uniform. With the development of high temperature and high pressure technology, the maximum size of artificial single crystal diamond can be up to 8mm.
