June 2021: Vatech marks a sales milestone for its EzRay Air.  Vatech, a global manufacturer of dental imaging devices, has reported the 20,000th sale of its EzRay Air. According to the company, the EzRay Air is the world’s first dental application of innovative CNT (carbon nano technology). The EzRay series has been sold in more than 100 countries since its FDA and CE approval in 2017, Vatech said. It has become an essential part of a dental practice, used in conjunction with intra-oral sensors to identify lesions, the company said. Vatech’s EzRay Air digitalizes the analog method of producing X-rays, enabling the user with immediate control of X-ray emission. Traditional analog methods require the heating of a filament to more than 2,300 degrees Celsius. In this process, the patient is subjected to unnecessary radiation. EzRay Air makes use of digital signals to control X-ray emission, eliminating excess emission and enhances image quality. Source

January 2021: HDXWILL to make a splash in global dental imaging market.  HDXWILL, a subsidiary of medical device maker HDX, develops and produces dental 3D radiation equipment CBCT (cone beam computed tomography), panoramic shooting equipment, and diagnostic software for dental medicine. Despite the companys small size, Jung was confident that the company was armed with a globally competitive product lineup. HDXWILL showcased the new CBCT “ECO-X” using AI in January 2020. In December, it released an oral scanner, “RealArch.” Previously, only three companies in the world developed and produced both oral scanners and CBCT -- Dentsply Sirona in Germany, Carestream Health in the U.S., and Planmeca in Finland. Aug 2020: Planet DDS acquires dental equipment provider Apteryx Imaging for C$39M. Planet DDS Inc. completed the acquisition of dental devices and related software provider Apteryx Imaging Inc. via an all-cash arrangement with an equity value of about C$39 million. In June, Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Planet DDS, which provides cloud-based dental software solutions, proposed the deal to acquire all of Apteryxs outstanding common and preferred shares for 65 Canadian cents each. The deal was approved by Apteryxs shareholders. Vancouver, British Columbia-based Apteryxs common shares are expected to delist from the TSX Venture Exchange by Aug. 13 and the company will apply to cease to be a reporting issuer in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. "The Planet DDS team has been instrumental in the growth of our company as a key partner for our XVWeb cloud imaging software," said Apteryxs CEO David Gane. Source
